Midwest Bio-service Company

Duane Ring started our business in 1974. Working as a professor of Microbiology and Botany during the fall and spring he would travel around Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas during the summers doing microscope service and repairs.

In 1986 we moved our main office from Kansas to Oklahoma and that is when Duane’s son Paul at the age of 16 started helping him in the summers while Duane retired from teaching to work the “Microscope Business” full time. Duane worked as Owner/Operator/Technician until the mid 2000’s at which time he retired to the office and Paul took over many of his duties. At the age of 83 Duane is talking about retiring completely (we’ll see).

As of today, our main office is in Tulsa, OK and we have a field technician (Joe Slepka) who resides in Dallas to cover our North and West Texas accounts. We are authorized service providers for Olympus, Nikon, Labomed, Accu-Scope, Unitron, Swift Optical, and National Optical. We provide service on all makes and models past and present. We have two technicians that are factory trained with a combined experience of over 45 years in the field.

Referrals are happily available upon request. Just a few of our long time customers include OU, OSU, Dallas Community Colleges, Tarrant County Colleges, University of Central Oklahoma, Northwestern Oklahoma State University, Southwestern Oklahoma State University, Collin County Community College, Abilene Christian University, Amarillo College, Hardin Simmons University, OU Health Sciences Center, VA OKC, VA Muskogee, Tulsa University, Tulsa Community Colleges, too many secondary schools to mention, too many veterinarians to mention. Plus many, many more.
